There is lambswool under my naked feet

          C#
Gives off some kind of heat
  C#m Dmaj7 C#m Dmaj7 C#m Dmaj7 C#m Dmaj7
A salamander scurries into flame to be destroyed
 B5 Dmaj7 B5 Dmaj7 Amaj7
Imaginary creatures are trapped in birth
        Emaj7 Amaj7 Emaj7 Amaj7
On celluloid

    F#m6
The fleas cling to the golden fleece,
C#
Hoping they'll find peace
     C#m Dmaj7 C#m Dmaj7 C#m Dmaj7 C#m Dmaj7
Each thought and gesture are caught in cellu-loid
           Dmaj7 Bm Dmaj7 Bm
There's no hi - ding in my memory
        A7sus4 A7 A7sus4 A7 [ D ]
There's no room to avoid

[Verse]
D Em
  The crawlers cover the floor
                 D
In the red ochre corridor
                       Em
For my second sight of people
                              D
They've more lifeblood than before
                  Em D
They're moving in time to a heavy wooden door
                          Em
Where the needle's eye is winking, closing in on the poor

[Chorus]
    F#m
The carpet crawlers heed their callers:
A G
We've got to get in to get out
A G
We've got to get in to get out
D C Em/B D
We've got to get in to get out

[Verse]
D Em D
There's only one direction in the faces that I see
                      Em
It's upward to the ceiling
                            D
Where the chamber's said to be
                          Em
Like the forest fight for sunlight,
                         D
That takes root in every tree
                          Em
They are pulled up by the magnet, believing they're free

[Chorus]
    F#m
The carpet crawlers heed their callers:
A G
We've got to get in to get out
A G
We've got to get in to get out
D C Em/B D
We've got to get in to get out

[Verse]
D Em
Mild mannered supermen are held in kryptonite,
             D
And the wise and foolish virgins giggle
           Em
With their bodies glowing bright
D Em
Through a door a harvest feast is lit by candlelight;
         D Em
It's the bottom of a staircase that spirals out of sight

[Chorus]
    F#m
The carpet crawlers heed their callers:
A G
We've got to get in to get out
A G
We've got to get in to get out
D C Em/B D
We've got to get in to get out

[Verse]
D Em
The porcelain manikin with shattered skin fears attack
        D
And the eager pack lift up their pitchers
Em
 They carry all they lack
    D Em
The liquid has congealed, which has seeped out through the crack,
        D | Em |
And the tickler takes his stickleback

[Chorus]
    F#m
The carpet crawlers heed their callers:
A G
We've got to get in to get out
A G
We've got to get in to get out
D C Em/B D
We've got to get in to get out

[Interlude]
      D Em [ D ]
We've got to get out, we've got to get in to get out
      D Em [ D ]
We've got to get out, we've got to get in to get out
      D Em [ D ]
We've got to get out, we've got to get in to get out
      D Em [ F#m ]
We've got to get out, we've got to get in to get out

[Chorus]
    F#m
The carpet crawlers heed their callers:
A G
We've got to get in to get out
A G
We've got to get in to get out

Its a hard song to sing correctly but these tabs are a fairly simple but accurate way to play it, accept for the first verse which could use some simplifying (Maybe, I am not sure)

You can play the intro much easier like this: [E]There is [F#m]lambswool under my [E]naked feet The [F#m]wool is soft and ^warm, Gives [C#]off some kind of heat A [C#m]salamander scurries into [D]flame to be des[C#m]troyed I[Bm]maginary creatures are [A]trapped in birth On cellu[E]loid [A] [E] [A] The [F#m]fleas cling to the golden fleece [C#]Hoping they'll find peace .Each [C#m]^thou[D]ght and [C#m]gesture are [D]caught in cellu-[C#m]loid There's no [Bm]hi - ding in my memory There's [G]no room [A] to a[D]void
