F Bb F Bb 2x

 F Bb C
Another day is at end
                Bb F Dm
Mama says she's tired again
           C A Bb C
No one can even begin to tell her

F Bb C
I hardly know what to say
               Bb F Dm
But maybe it's better that way
             C A Bb C
If papa were here I'm sure he'd tell her

F Bb F Bb
Shannon is gone I hope she's drifting out to sea
F Bb C
She always loved to swim away
F Bb F Bb
Maybe she'll find an island with a shady tree
F Bb F
Just like the one in our backyard

F Bb C
Mama tries hard to pretend
                Bb F Dm
Things will get better again
         C A Bb C
Somehow she's keeping it all inside her

    F Bb C
But finally the tears fill our eyes
                Bb F Dm
And I know that somewhere tonight
              C A Bb C
She knows how much we really miss her

F Bb F Bb
Shannon is gone I hope she's drifting out to sea
F Bb C
She always loved to swim away
F Bb F Bb
Maybe she'll find an island with a shady tree
F Bb F Bb
Just like the one in our backyard

I think there are a few sus chords, especially on the Bb going into the chorus and the C ending the verse.A few slash chords somewhere too,I believe. Nice job though. Song gives me goosebumps on top of goosebumps. As long as you are doing "late 70's/sad/beloved animals dying horribly" how about Wildfire. Heh.
