IÂ’m not 100% sure on this but it sounds close. The G# name isnÂ’t right itÂ’s something
so for ease IÂ’m just going to put it as G#. Also the chord might not be totally right. The
beginning is missing and how he ends the song is missing. The verses are all muted with
eighth note strumming or however you word that. The “A-X”s are the A chord
followed by the muted strumming. I donÂ’t know if he is doing this but it sorta sounds
it. The “\” in the last Chorus are to show the downstrokes he does. Just watch the video
youÂ’ll understand what IÂ’m talking about. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMQGEyW5AV0

Verse 1:

Â…
X
IÂ’m stuck with these sins
IÂ’m hopinÂ’ maybe time can resolve them
IÂ’m a lying cheating fiend and coward
WhoÂ’s trying to follow Christ
IÂ’m hopinÂ’ He can fix this old dog with new tricks
His death is my only device
Ya death is my only device

Chorus 1:

D/A A
I said I needed room to breathe
D/A A
I said I needed to break free
D/A F#m
Well all thatÂ’s true, that I was running from you
D/A A-X
Turns out I was running from me

Verse 2:

X
ThereÂ’s a girl who lives down my street
She says the flowers take care of the bees
She tells me IÂ’m poor and my daddyÂ’s at war
Oh whoÂ’s gonna take care of me?

Verse 3:

X
Now if history is violence and sex
IÂ’d rather not pay my respects
If IÂ’ve caused offense
If IÂ’m too direct
IÂ’m just trying to talk some sense

IÂ’m politically in-correct
I said

Chorus 2:

D/A A
I said I needed room to breathe
D/A A
I said I needed to break free
D/A F#m
Well all thatÂ’s truth, that I was running from you
D/A A
Turns out I was running from me

Bridge:

Running away from me
F#m G#
La la la la la la
D/A A-X
Running away from me

Verse 4:

X
IÂ’ve been given this a lot of thought
Who am I? Who on earth is God?
The answer ainÂ’t kind
And reason to find
But by God itÂ’s the only answer I got
Yeah God itÂ’s the only chance IÂ’ve got

Chorus 3:

D/A A
I said I needed room to breathe
D/A A
I said I needed to break free
D/A F#m
Well all thatÂ’s truth, that I was running from you
D/A A
