I beg to differ on the "you'd like to think your immune" part. I think Em to C sounds right/better to me. F#m doesn't sound right at all...

Jazz it up a bit and use a D9 instead of a D over the work "immune"......very colorful. And P.S. the three-part brass/string/synth section playing contrapuntally against the lead vocal uses a very strange chord progression over the D power chord......D7/9 to D to EM (there's the Em that everyone keeps hearing). The other power chords just use the standard triads "major - fourth - dom7". Makes the three-part brass rift played over the D chord sound almost identical to the same riff played over the final A chord. In reality, the only difference in the notes is a C in the D power chord passage, which changes to a C# during the A power chords.....very clever way to jazz up the brass ensemble.
